NURSERY RETAIL STAFF - Seasonal Plant Care and Sales

Job description:
- Work in plant care and customer sales
- Assist with inventory

- Live in or near Big Timber, conveniently located between Billings and Bozeman with world-class fishing, excellent hiking, and skiing all within an hour’s drive
Skills and Requirements:
- Some experience with plant care
- Self motivated and ability to problem solve
- Outgoing personality, able to connect with people effectively and work well with others
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Compensation: DOE
Start date: April/May 2023.
LANDSCAPE EMPLOYEE
This position offers much in the way of challenges and rewards. And Blake Nursery, in business since 1977, is a great place to work, with friendly clients and hard-working, fun-loving employees. As a landscape employee working for Blake Nursery, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Load and deliver plants and materials to job site
- Prepare site (amend soil, grade, etc.)
- Install hardscapes (patios, walks, retaining walls, edging, etc.)
- Plant trees, shrubs, and perennials
- Mulch, sod, and seed
Other responsibilities will include general nursery work. These tasks are varied, but include unloading semis, standing up large trees and setting up irrigation, and vehicle and machinery maintenance.
Experience with machinery (particularly skidsteers) and driving trucks with trailers is beneficial, though we are willing to teach these skills as needed. As always, safety is a priority.
During the season, we generally work 4 ten hour days (Monday-Thursday), though this may vary depending on weather and work schedule. Work on weekends, as well as evenings, is also an option.
